Field Crystal - Rare Large Brazilian Morion Smokey Quartz & Lodalite Skull, 1277g
Field Journey — 24 September 2026
This skull journeyed into the open Lancashire moorland during powerful winds. The landscape was vast and exposed, with no enclosing walls or rock faces—a place where cleansing could take place without containment.
Its lodolite inclusions hold an inner terrain through which you can journey. Placed within the immense open landscape, this hidden world became visible: the microcosm meeting the macrocosm, an inner terrain held within a vast outer one.
The skull encouraged me to follow a different route, and a new pathway emerged. Stone, wind, sky and earth combined in a powerful cleansing that made space for inspiration. The moorland lay between different places and towns. It was freeing, yet it belonged fully to neither destination.
A message emerged from this in-between space: it is here that inspiration can develop, worlds can be bridged and new pathways can form. Yet we do not always need to rush towards a destination. Take your time within the spaces between. They are free, they are clear, and they allow transformation to unfold.
Animal Encounters
As the skull sat upon a stone, geese flew overhead in formation. Within the teachings of Ted Andrews’ Animal-Speak, their appearance carries a powerful call to quest—to travel towards new places, seek new worlds and begin a spiritual journey. Their flight strengthened the message already emerging from the landscape: inspiration can lead us beyond familiar pathways and towards something not yet known. Appearing at the threshold between two seasons, the geese also reminded us that the in-between is not an empty space. It is a place of movement and transformation, where one cycle begins to give way to another and a new direction can take form.
This skull also encouraged me to view a tidy spider web that was upon the moorland, it stored dew droplets upon it it, making the silks visible to the eye. Spiders are the weavers, creatively forming pathways across the spaces in between and building bridges between worlds. They remind us that we are the weavers of our own lives. Each day, through how we walk in this world, how we speak and the actions we choose to take, another thread is placed. In this way, pathways begin to emerge—woven from the past, shaped in the present and reaching towards the future. The geese may call us towards the quest, but the spider reminds us that we must weave the pathway ourselves.
